Jonathan Avery, M.D.
Jonathan Avery is currently a PGY 2 resident in the NYPH Weill Cornell Psychiatry Residency Training Program. He graduated from the University of Florida with a major in philosophy and a minor in religion. He completed his medical school at New York University School of Medicine. During medical school, he investigated adult ADHD at the NYU Child Study Center and was awarded the Dr. Thomas Detre senior medical student award in psychiatry. While at Cornell, Jonathan has been involved in the education of medical students and helped teach a class to the emergency room residents. He has represented Cornell at the New York PsychSIGN Conference and the American Psychiatric Association District Branch. He also was recently awarded the New York Presbyterian Falcon Award for Service. Throughout his career, Jonathan has been an active member of various local and international hospice organizations and has written several articles pertaining to end-of-life care.
