Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry

Mission Statement

The GAP committees deliberate in a small group format with the exchange of thoughts and ideas by leaders of American psychiatry who have the opportunity to convene twice yearly to work together through the process of brain storming and innovation. GAP develops reports and position statements which are disseminated nationally and internationally. The goal of GAP is to continue to germinate new and exciting ideas which will impact on the thinking and practice of mental health clinicians. It is through such impact that the nature and quality of treatment for the millions suffering from emotional disorders and mental illness are improved.
